In light of recent events, the team at Flick started to think about how we could use our platform to propel powerful and talented Black creators on Instagram, who we found via Flick, and whose content we love. We asked you to share with us your favourite creators, or reach out to us if you were a creator yourself, so that we could feature some of our favourites on our blog, and throughout our content – now and forever.
7 Black Creators to Follow on Instagram
@btdesignco (run by Bryant Taylor) started his account to share his “love and appreciation of unique modern/industrial interior design and architecture.” He is a firm believer in giving back to the community and participated in Phase One Foundations’ Art vs. Cancer event last year, donating his artwork to help raise money for cancer research.
The team at Flick love his designs, and a few of us have already purchased some of his pieces.
What can you expect from his page? Inspirational interior design layouts, motivational artwork and prints galore.
Otherwise known as Dr. Camille H-Verovic, @dermbeautydoc takes her followers through the skincare craze in order to provide invaluable nuggets of information to help people along their skin and haircare journeys. Camille mixes her skincare secrets, tips and tricks, with personal photos of herself as well as her top recommendations, and for any skincare fanatic is definitely worth a follow!
What can you expect from her page? Recommendations, story highlights containing skincare tips, quick videos and lengthy captions.
If you are in to photography, you’ll want to check out Danny Valentine’s page. Based in Bordeaux, France, Danny shares clean and fresh portrature imagery that he has captured both on location and in the studio.
What can you expect from his page? Editorial fashion and beauty photography as well as stunningly lit, raw film shots.
Guaranteed to put a smile on your face, Marcus spreads daily “actionable motivation tips” to his following, to help them break out of their comfort zone. His posts allows followers to get to know him, and each features captions filled with advice and information on how to stay motivated and lead a healthy lifestyle.
What can you expect from his page? Posts that get you going, with captions that outline everything you need to motivate yourself in any scenario.
Are you a fan of live music and missing your fix during lockdown? You’re in luck. Musical duo @acuteinflections provide a constant dose of cello and vocal videos, from New York. You’ll likely know a lot of the songs that they perform, so it’s a great one to watch and sing along to.
What can you expect from their page? Livestreams as well as videos on their main account that show off their talented performances.
Just in case you hadn’t noticed by the handle – this one is for all you foodies out there. Food for Thought UK posts delicious photos of their vegan and vegetarian food alongside their homegrown recipes so that you can cook along with them.
What can you expect from their page? Colourful and delicious plating alongside full recipes for each dish.
If you are a fan of Flick, you are probably constantly on the lookout for Instagram tips and tricks in order to grow your account. @digitalbrandingtz summarizes some of their advice in easy to follow carousel posts on their account.
